Remedy

“Babe, how much longer?” I asked Romeo as we headed to God knows where.

Traveling via helicopter–with him being the pilot–Romeo was taking me and my aunt to a place that he said would be my mom’s final resting place. In other words, the place where she would die and never be heard from again. All we had knowledge of was that it would be somewhere surrounded by lots of water since we all knew she had a huge fear of water.

“We will be there in about fifteen minutes, baby. Just hold tight.”

“And Tee, it was your suggestion for him to take her somewhere surrounded by water. So are you sure this will work?”

“Remy, when I talked to your mom last year, we discussed what happened when we were younger, and she admitted then that she still wouldn’t go near a pool. So unless she has taken some swimming classes within these last few months that I don’t know about, then her ass is still terrified of water. Trust me.”
